A really fun 8 piece horn band plus three vocalists. Their repertoire includes all the great horn band dance songs from the 60s, 70s & 80s. Led by bass player Mark Amentt, “Soul Purpose” plays with high energy and a great groove.

Soul Purpose headlined Saturday night from 6:30 to 10:30 and while a crowd of several hundred gyrated on and off the dance floor, a crowd of over 1000 people at the festival got to enjoy the performance.
Many thanks to the Event Staff of St. Anthony’s for inviting “Soul Purpose”, my sincerest thanks to sound engineer Ren Parker for his patience and diligence in helping getting everything up and running, a special thanks to Esty for his invaluable help doing the roadie thing and a hearty “well done” to the band.
This rig was more than we actually needed, but it’s always nice to have more headroom than necessary. Four Peavey QW-2s over four Peavey VR-218s all driven by QSC amps with a Mackie FR-2500 pinch hitting for the QSC that blew up last week. Six Peavey QW monitors, all powered by Peavey CS-4080 amps with three discrete monitor mixes, one for vocalists, one for horns and one for the backline. Sennheiser e835s were on main vocal duty while a SuperLux Drum Mic Kit did percussion. All signals went through the Mackie 32×8 mixing desk with efx from Lexicon and compression by FMR’s RNC. A great gig and the really cool thing is we get to do it all again on 4 July!
