Steve Kelly biography

Upon moving to Philadelphia in 2002, Steve Kelly helped out some friends in a small band sound better by taking their Mackie 808 from the stage and mixing their music for them at a Front Of House position so the lone guitar player didn’t have to do it during songs. This was not a new thing as he did lots of DJ work and sound work in high school.

Four years and a bunch of equipment later, SemperFi Sound, LLC, was created in 2006 to help RattlesnakeDrive and other bands sound better than ever.

Today, this retired Marine LtCol pilot, is helping several bands and several causes by providing Sound Reinforcement, Lighting, Recording, DJ work and minor equipment repair. Steve also teaches Motorcycle Safety for the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program and designs custom computers and SO/HO networks. He & his wife make wine and rescue retired racing greyhounds.

Steve does Twitter and you can see him posting regularly on the Peavey forums, answering questions from band members, sound engineers and technicians with sound reinforcement queries. And while The Who, Meatloaf and Tom Petty will not be calling Steve to do their shows at the Keswick anytime soon, for bands that need help in bars, clubs, outdoor concerts, weddings, and other events, SemperFi Sound may be a great pairing.

Thanks so much for taking time to check out SemperFi Sound.
